In 2008, every second child in the world lives in poverty and 10 million children die each year from preventable and curable diseases.   This is just one of thousands of tragic facts about our world and the injustices that are prevalent everywhere.

If you are reading this..   you are amazingly wealthy!      We are so caught up in our life in our comfort in our leisure and indulgences we rarely give a thought to those in the world with less than us..  

with nothing.  

But we are in a position where we can DO something, and we have a responsibility to ‘speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.  Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.’  Proverbs 31:8-9

Art is a powerful means to communicate to communities, and for communities and cultures who cannot speak for themselves.   This is the purpose of the Create to Advocate art exhibition.           To speak out against poverty, and get people thinking about how they can get involved.  So check it out if your in town..   and check out one of these links to find out how you can help those in need..

4th of October – the long weekend

This is a new market in Newcastle – The Junction Primary School..     There will be a load of fun stuff there (not sure about umbrellas though) - art   craft   design   fashion.    Beautiful hand made stuff from local artisans dont miss it!
