Nicole Maloney is a uniquely gifted Natural History Illustrator based on the scenic Central Coast of New South Wales. A Newcastle University graduate from a degree which combines study of fine art, science and the environment, Nicole has already received high acclaim for her artwork among peers as well as specialists within the field.
In 2007, Nicole was the recipient of the Highly Commended prize of the Margaret Senior Wildlife Illustration Award. Her body of work was inspired by her love of the intricate creation of our coastal environment. Nicole’s versatility in subject matter is evident, and in 2007 she was recognised as a gifted entomological illustrator, receiving first prize in the 2007 Australian Entomological Society illustration competition.
Nicole has a profound love and appreciation of the Australian environment, which inspires and directs her work. Her ongoing exploration of natural history illustration as a medium to convey the complexity of nature ensures her work remains scientifically accurate as well as visually stunning.
